As I said on the front page, I work for salesforce.com I'm a senior technical writer, but the majority of my focus is on our information design.
I don't own a car (my wife does, though). I use public transit as much as possible, including taking BART to work. When needed, I can get a car from City Car Share. I'm lucky that I live in an area where living without a car is easier (and cheaper) than owning one.
I moved to the Bay Area in 1998 after attending college at New Mexico School of Mines (now known as New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology). I lived in Socorro, New Mexico, from August 1984 until I moved to San Francisco. Before that I lived in Cape Coral, Florida, and I grew up about 30 minutes outside of Virginia, Minnesota.
My favorite software application is emacs.
My favorite sports team is the Minnesota Vikings.
